Vacheron & Constantin 1st Series Prestige De La France “Thinnest Movement Ever Produced” The 1972 Vacheron Constantin Prestige is historically known for its use of the world’s thinnest mechanical movement ever produced at 1.64mm thick and still holds this record nearly 50 years later. The example featured above is a 1st series Original design not to be confused with the modern re-issued limited 2013 examples which were made as a tribute in 40 examples. Displayed on the back are the Coat of Arms which Vacheron Constantin was awarded in1972 as the only watch manufacturer. to ever receive the Honor for their achievements. Magic Swept society’s attention during early 1900s with its concept of trapped doors and mystery . Cartier attempted designs as seen in the iconic shutter clock below and the various mystery clocks Cartier’s firm created.
