Wedgwood’s formula for a “Green Glaze to be laid on common white biscuit ware” is number 7 in his “Experiment Book” entered on March 23, 1759. These pots, early on, were produced at the time that Wedgwood was working in partnership with Whieldon. In the making of Cauliflower Pots, the upper part of the ware which emulated the cauliflower head was either cream or yellow; in the case of the pot pictured here, it is cream. This pot is a fine example of the ware, c. 1760-65; This is pictured with a wonderfully molded English creamware Pineapple Tea Pot, most likely Whieldon, c. 1760–65.
