From 1999 to 2006, Schafer served as the president and then chairman of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Classical America. His work and firm’s projects have been widely featured in publications in the U.S. and abroad, including Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, House Beautiful, Veranda, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal . Schafer is also a noted author.
