55th Annual Delaware Show

Dear Friends: Thank you for joining us as we celebrate the 55th annual Delaware Antiques Show, and welcome to a tour through the very best in fine and decorative arts available in the market today. We appreciate your participation in the show, which benefits the educational programming and preservation of American history and objects at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library. Each year the show features a museum-quality exhibition that provides a window into the stories and meanings unlocked by treasured museum collections. This year’s exhibition, In Fine Form: The Striking Silhouette, is drawn from the rich, diverse, and voluminous holdings of the Winterthur Library. It includes some of the earliest and most beautifully illustrated volumes in our rare book collection and offers a close-up look at the sources for many of the designs and ornamentation seen throughout the show. The staging and production of an event on the level of the Delaware Antiques Show requires the careful orchestration and collaboration of many hands. We especially thank our advertisers, sponsors, and patrons for their financial support and our dedicated dealers for providing such a wide range of enticing antiques. We are also deeply appreciative of the time and expertise of Honorary Chair Charlotte Moss, our lecturers, the host committee, and the show volunteers. The Winterthur staff relies each year on your boundless enthusiasm; we couldn’t do it without you. Please enjoy the show, browse through the objects of history, and visit us at Winterthur ― both inside and out ― as we take delight in the seasonal changes in the garden and uncover more of the stories that objects are trying to tell us. With all best wishes, Carol B. Cadou Charles F. Montgomery Director and CEO Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library
