Condition: lined, in a cherry frame. Minor areas of some touch-up (in-painting) otherwise in fine condition. Hobo Lake is south of Plum Lake in the town of Sayner in Vilas County, Wisconsin and was known for its fishing. Only a small 14-acre lake which became quite popular by the late 19th century and referenced in Forest and Stream (vol. 48, pg. 346) May 1, 1897. This view of the “Hobo Fishing Camp”, dated 1906 gives us a glimpse of the charm and serenity of the lake on a summer day.
