For more than 60 years, the Show has been raising funds for local charities serving the needs of at-risk children and families. The Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys, THEARC and the Founder Board of St John’s Community Services do a great deal to support local disadvantaged families and are very deserving of our support. In the past century, Asia has become increasingly important to Australia: politically, economically, demographically, and culturally. Australia’s interest in Asian art, both contemporary and historic, is very strong with collections of global stature in many Australian institutions. I commend this year’s theme The Charm of the Chinoiserie that brings a fascinating loan Exhibit, In the Chinese Style , exploring Chinese artistic traditions in the west.
