Cherry primary with cherry veneers, light and darkwood inlays; poplar secondary. Height 101¾" (with finials) Tall Clock owned by the Calmes Family of “Mt. Pleasant” in Ridgeley, Hampshire County [now Mineral County, West] Virginia. Dial signed “Frederick - Buster” and gear incised “J.B” for John or James Buster and “J. Hoover”, clockmakers of Frederick County, Maryland. Case Maryland or Virginia. Dated “1796” on the movement. Walnut primary with light and darkwood inlays; poplar secondary. Height 108½" (with finial)
