He found stimulation in the brushwork, the rich colors and the pure joy of portraying his subject. The beautifully crafted fruit forms on the dish reveal a then modernistic approach to the subject with its light colors and simplified forms. William Glackens is currently the focus of a one-man exhibition at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia. By appointment, the painting may be viewed in New York
