PO Box 218 Northwood, NH 03261 Phone 603 942 6498 www.adadealers.com Caretakers! Owners of companion animals are caretakers to their animals, but did you know “caretakers” is a term we antiques and art collectors o en use to describe our relationship to the objects in our collections? We know that the historic objects that we collect are not really ours, not ultimately-they enrich and educate us just as companion animals do, but ultimately when we pass, the objects will live on in someone else’s care. e Antiques Dealers’ Association of America, Inc. (ADA) was established inMay 1984 as a non-pro t trade association. Its major objective is to make more professional the business of buying and selling antiques. Our membership is composed of professional antiques dealers who are dedicated to integrity, honesty and ethical conduct in the antiques trade. All members are required to guarantee their merchandise in writing on a sales receipt which must state approximate age, origin, condition and restoration, if any, of all pieces that are sold. To ensure that the standards outlined in the bylaws are kept bymembers, the Association has a standing ethics committee. Membership is renewable on an annual basis, subject to review by the Board of Directors. Only those who demonstrate dedication to the ethical standards of the Association are invited to continue their membership. To assist both members and the public alike, ADA functions in an educational capacity, providing information, lectures, and seminars on various topics concerning antiques. e ADA/ Historic Deer eld Antiques Show has a long reputation of being one of the foremost events in the market and of providing its attendees with an enjoyable and informative experience in antiquing and art buying. e show’s comfortable atmosphere allows customers to ask questions and spend time with the objects-and being an ADA event, each item is sold with a guarantee of authenticity!
