O n behalf of all our citizens, I extend warmest greetings as you attend the Charleston Antiques Show in the City of Charleston — a city that embraces its rich history and traditions. The City of Charleston is a progressive and energetic city, and our goal is to provide residents with the best services and our visitors with the best experiences. Charleston’s unique blend of European, English, Asian and Caribbean influences are preserved today in the city’s architecture, interiors and gardens and are demonstrated through the 12th annual Charleston Antiques Show. The celebrated Charleston Antiques Show , has grown to be an attraction for both locals and visitors from across the globe. Most fitting, the Antiques Show benefits Historic Charleston Foundation which has been a leader in preserving the unique and distinguished heritage of Charleston and its environs since 1947. Charleston’s finest historic houses and other cultural events will also be featured during the Foundation’s 68th annual Festival of Houses and Gardens , March 19 – April 19, 2015. Along with Festival tours, guests can take in all that Charleston has to offer including tours of the city’s historic museum houses, including the Foundation’s own Nathaniel Russell (c. 1808) and Aiken-Rhett House Museums (c. 1820). Your attending the Charleston Antiques Show and the Festival of Houses and Gardens supports the Foundation’s mission of protecting and preserving the architectural, historical and cultural integrity of Charleston. Each event has substantial historical and cultural significance, and each presents an opportunity to enjoy and support Charleston’s continuing legacy.
