Charleston Antiques Show 2015

2015 / 9 T his year marks the 12th annual Charleston Antiques Show and as the Show acknowledges the Foundation’s 68 years of preserving and revitalizing the history and livability of Charleston. Since 1947, the Foundation played a key role in the protection and preservation of Charleston and the Lowcountry’s built environment. Through advocacy, education, archaeology, research, decorative arts collections, museum house interpretations and easement and neighborhood initiative programs, the Foundation continues to protect the architectural, historical, and cultural integrity of Charleston and its Lowcountry environs. Your generous support of the Antiques Show allows us to continue that stewardship and focuses on Charleston’s prevalent decorative arts legacy. The 2015 Antiques Show is the perfect backdrop to demonstrate why Charleston is one of the most desirable places to live and visit in the United States. The Show highlights a beautiful array of decorative and fine arts, including period furnishings, vintage jewelry, porcelains, silver, and architectural garden accents from the late 17th to the early 20th century. As always, the Antiques Show has much to offer, to include the elegant Preview Party, Study Tours, and special events throughout the weekend in addition to the daily house and garden tours. As always, we are thrilled that the Charleston Antiques Show kicks off the 68th annual Festival of Houses and Gardens (March 19 – April 19). The Festival provides a rare opportunity for guests to go inside the private houses and gardens of some of America’s most beautiful and historic residences, some dating to the 18th century with extensive fine and decorative arts collections. During the Festival, guests enjoy luncheon lectures, concerts, boat cruises and other special events. On behalf of the Board of Trustees and staff of Historic Charleston Foundation, I welcome you to the 12th annual Charleston Antiques Show. Thank you for attending the Show and ultimately for your support of our important preservation work. Katharine S.
