2018 Charleston Antiques Show

2018  /  11 Sandra Vineyard, Chair 2018 Charleston Antiques Show F rom its early history as an international trading center, Charleston has a rich tradition of celebrating fine craftsmanship and an appreciation of the decorative arts, making the city an ideal backdrop for the show. With 31 highly curated dealers featuring stunning pieces from around the world, the Charleston Antiques Show is reminiscent of Charleston’s early trading days when discerning patrons from throughout the new country sought to surround themselves with the finest pieces available in the world market. We see that same passion for quality and appreciation of craftsmanship in visitors to the Antiques Show. Collectors from across the country attend, as well as patrons who are just starting to build their collections and those who want to incorporate antiques into modern décor. While Charleston is a city that honors its past, it also is one that embraces new ideas and creativity. It is in this spirit that we are continuing last year’s wildly successful Intimate Talks with Design in Mind series featuring designers of national renowned. Inspiring creativity, fusing tradition with modern décor, the intimate talks reveal the harmonious balance between old and new. I am most grateful for the generosity of our corporate partners, Collectors Circle Members and patrons who provide the basis of our fundraising support for Historic Charleston Foundation. A special thank you to our Platinum sponsors, The Cassina Group Real Estate and The Urban Electric Co. for their outstanding contributions. And I am thankful for our volunteers and committee members whose time, creativity and talent help make the show such a big success. I am delighted you are here!
