When you add the element of mist and fog, it can be very intriguing to an artist eye to render the atmosphere that seems to hug the coast and give us wonder. I love to paint this effect, study it and have the viewer see and feel what I felt when I was there. “ Playing Misty , was captured during late spring when poppies are blooming and the air was moist with a light mist. Solliday The artist writes, “In this scene, I was showing a cool woodland setting with light and shade with the warm coloring in the blanket in contrast to the cool coloring in the shadows.
