Proceeds from the Delaware Antiques Show benefit our educational programs, which have served our community for more than 60 years. Each year thousands of area children visit Winterthur through our school programs. In the most recent year, 17% of visiting schools received a scholarship and did not pay a fee for the program. The programs explore history, art, science, and more and help build 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Our educational programs serve more than schoolchildren—Winterthur offers programs for toddlers through teens, and for adults. Winterthur also offers off-site educational programs. Staff and volunteers visit the Salvation Army twice a month, providing an art and social studies class inspired by objects in the collection. We also offer programs for community groups, such as libraries and Girl Scout troops. Educational programs are supported, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
