Incollect Magazine - Issue 15

16 www.incollect.com HAPPENINGS Salon Art + Design returns to the Park Avenue Armory, New York, November 4–8 for its 15th edition, bringing together more than 40 international galleries and design presentations specializing in historic, modern, and contemporary art and design. The anniversary also signals an expansion of Salon’s activities beyond its annual New York fair, with an announcement of exhibitions and partnerships planned throughout the year. Since its founding, Salon has distinguished itself by placing furniture, lighting, ceramics, glass and jewelry alongside painting and sculpture, allowing objects from different periods and disciplines to share the same setting. That approach has become increasingly relevant as collectors and interior designers move more freely between fine art, decorative arts and collectible design. “Reaching our fifteenth edition is an incredible milestone, and an opportunity to reflect on how far the fair and the collectible design community have come together,” says Executive Director Nicky Dessources. “What began as a fair has evolved into a broader cultural platform that brings together extraordinary galleries, collectors, designers and institutions.” For 2026, the fair will again assemble leading dealers presenting material ranging from important 20th-century furniture and decorative arts to contemporary works commissioned directly from artists and designers. Galleries include Incollect dealers Milord Antiques, Donzella Ltd., Twenty First Gallery, Todd Merrill Studio and Liz O’Brien, as well as David Gill Gallery, Maison Gerard, Vram, and Cristina Grajales Gallery. The variety of their presentations remains central to Salon’s identity, with individual stands offering a broad range of material rather than adhering to conventional collecting categories. Donzella is once again combining contemporary makers with historical classics, pairing custom handblown glass lighting by Lorin Silverman with a rare Kuan Festival cabinet by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, made of etched, enameled and patinated bronze, pewter and painted wood. The gallery will also show a rare illuminated desk by Salon Art + Design Marks 15 Years at the Park Avenue Armory Clockwise from top: Samara Palma Chandelier, Lorin Silverman.
