Founded in 1988, the event brings together collectors, dealers, scholars, and craftspeople focused on Arts and Crafts furniture, pottery, metalwork, lighting, and decorative arts. The historic resort, completed in 1913, is noted for its Arts and Crafts architecture and interiors. Among the exhibitors is William Drucker, a recognized authority on Danish silversmith Georg Jensen. “We are excited to exhibit at the 40th National Arts & Crafts Conference & Show, as it focuses on one of my favorite periods of 20th-century decorative art,” he says. Drucker Antiques, which is celebrating its 49th year in the trade, will present a selection of Georg Jensen table objects, cutlery patterns, and jewelry. “Jensen’s desire to bring beautiful objects into the lives of ordinary people, enlightening their lives, is a principle I hold dear,” Drucker explains. Drucker Antiques offers the largest selection of vintage Georg Jensen in the United States, with a curated selection available on its Incollect.com storefront. The expanded anniversary program includes eight seminars, discussion groups, demonstrations, tours, special exhibitions and three exhibitor shows featuring antiques, contemporary work, booksellers and historic organizations. A new Saturday evening program will examine the Arts and Crafts collection at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Speakers include auctioneer and ceramics specialist David Rago, author and collector David Cathers, guest curator, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Nonie Gadsden, Senior Curator of American Decorative Arts and Sculpture at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and limited edition letterpress studio printer and collector Andre Chaves. The conference is moving from its traditional February schedule because the Grove Park Inn will begin a major interior renovation later in January. The antiques and contemporary shows open Friday, January 8, at 1 p.m. Admission is $10, valid for all three days. HAPPENINGS Georg Jensen Silver Bowl 296. Courtesy of Drucker Antiques.
