Wonderful color. Note the exceptional details such as inlay on the frieze scrolls and how the base and crown friezes both reflect each other and create a counter- point to each other. The scrolls of the crown frieze are based on pediment designs, particularly the broken arch pediment often found on tall case clocks. One restored drop, toe repairs and restored hardware—all quite minor for 250 years of constant use. Dimensions: H. 78 1 ⁄ 2 ", W. 88", D. 19".
