MIAS Design and Antiques Fair 2010

We would like to thank the leadership at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts for recognizing how important this show is to our community. The MIA has extended an extraordinary amount of support and resources to bring this event back to the Twin Cities after a year’s hiatus. Honorary Chairs Eric Dayton and Michael Francis are the foundation of this initiative, providing remarkable encouragement and vision. Without their commitment, the return of this important event would not have been possible. Our show’s stalwart advisors, Sam and Patty McCullough, Damon Farber, and Gayle Fuguitt have worked tirelessly over many years to preserve this legacy; their dedication and enthusiasm is amazing. Thanks also go to our loyal volunteer committee members for returning to their posts to ensure another successful show. This team comprises an astonishing collection of talented supporters. We are grateful to all who have invested in this show’s past and who believe in its future. As Co-Chairs, we are proud to be a part of a show that is steeped in tradition. In addition to seventeenth-, eighteenth-, and nineteenth-century dealers, the fair is expanding to include Modernism and twentieth-century design. Broadening the scope of the show only emphasizes the commitment of the MIA, our committee, and supporters to reach and educate a larger, more diverse audience. Our mission is to appeal to a wide constituency, ranging from the curious to the most serious collectors. Show manager Karen DiSaia, along with curators Eike Schmidt and Cori Wegener, have vetted and secured highly respected local and national dealers. The ability to attract this level of professionalism truly reflects the stellar reputation that has been created by our past twenty-five years of shows. From Our Co-Chairs
