3 Welcome to the 34th annual August Antiques Show, which has certainly earned its reputation as one of the leading shows of its kind in the United States. Even the most esteemed collection can benefit from being reorganized. Oftentimes, a valued piece will look completely different in a new location. This year, we are focusing on one of the Nantucket Historical Association’s most important “pieces,” the August Antiques Show, and pairing it with a more contemporary element, while celebrating its history and quality. Under the management of the Antiques Council, forty exhibitors have brought the highest quality of collectible antiques to the August Antiques Show. In an effort to continue expanding our audiences, we will be proudly introducing the NHA Young Collectors Committee, which we hope will capture the attention and excitement of the next generation of NHA supporters. We are especially pleased to announce that Victoria Hagan, an icon in the world of interior design who advocates ways to incorporate antiques into contemporary homes, is joining us as our Honorary Chair. Once again, we are gratified to have the generous support of our underwriters, especially Eaton Vance Investment Counsel and Trianon /Seaman Schepps. In addition, we are enormously grateful to the many people who volunteer their time in support of our cherished NHA, which is one of the cornerstones of our island’s history and culture.
