designer biographies 2013 Susan Zises Green: NHA panel moderator Susan Zises Green has been a leader in the field of interior design for decades, using traditional and contemporary resources to create beautiful and comfortable interiors. After participating in the NHA Designer Panel in 2011, Zises Green became moderator in 2012, and has played an integral role in the selection of the panel’s participants ever since. Alessandra Branca: Born in Rome and the granddaughter of a Vatican Museum art historian, the Chicago-based interior designer behind Branca Interiors is known for combining fine antiques with vibrant colors and patterns in her work. Her signature style is formal elegance intermingled with everyday life, and she loves to incorporate the color red into many of her designs. Christopher Drake: As half of the Boston design firm Bierly-Drake, Christopher Drake’s aesthetic includes an emphasis on fine and applied arts such as paintings, drawings, antiques, and sculptures. He and his late partner, Lee Bierly, have received more than two dozen merit awards in the design industry, and in 2007 were inducted into the New England Design Hall of Fame.
