He took a class in creative wood design a decade later, which led to his career as a sculptor specializing in metal, wood and plastic. The majority of Schueler’s materials are discarded or found objects, and his finished pieces take inspiration from the landscape surrounding his studio and gallery on California’s scenic northern coast.
