Jean-Baptiste Armand Guillaumin, one of the founding members of the Impressionists, is highly regarded for his brightly colored views of Paris, the countryside of central France and the French coastline. Together with close friends Paul Cezanne and Camille Pissarro, Guillaumin exhibited at the infamous Salon des Refuses in 1863, as well as the first Impressionist group show in 1874 and at five more of the eight shows.
