Philadelphia Antiques & Art Show 2017

Meg Braff finds joy in design, be it in a family heirloom, a chinoiserie chair, a vibrant textile or a tag sale find. She began developing her eye alongside her mother, embold- ening their antique filled home with spirited fabrics and vivid colors. Meg’s Southern roots are apparent in her work— her projects are inviting and elegant, and reflect her kind, light-hearted attitude. After attending Vanderbilt University and the prestigious Parsons School of Design, Meg worked for several NewYork designers before launching her eponymous firm in 1994. In 2011 she acquired the Philip Graf archive, and began reimagining and expand- ing on his playful wallpaper patterns. She also opened her shop, Meg Braff Antiques & Decoration, located in the hear t of Locust Valley, NY. Meg is known for her exuber- ant, youthful take on traditional design, creating livable spaces imbued with playful glamour and a modern perspective. Her sophisticated color sense and deft mix of antique and eclectic pieces has broad appeal, evidenced by completed resi- dential projects throughout the East Coast and the Caribbean. Meg’s commissions brim with charisma and personality, thoughtfully tailored to her cli- ents preferences and lifestyles. Resulting rooms are layered and deeply personal, ideal set- tings for a well-lived life and for gracious enter taining. Meg is married to Douglas Braff and is the mother of four teenage boys; when she is not traveling for clients she is criss- crossing the country, cheering them on at squash competi- tions. She sits on the boards of The Bone Marrow Foundation and The Decorator’s Club, and pens a monthly column for Coastal Living Magazine. Her first book, The Decorated Home , is available wherever books are sold beginning April 11. The Decorated Home: Living with Style and Joy by Meg Braff. Forward by Charlotte Moss ✷ 32 ✷
