Flather Sweet Dupuy Denise Prince Puffin Travers WASHINGTON WINTER SHOW Georgetown: Over 200 Years of Style LECTURE & BUFFET LUNCHEON Timeless, elegant and distinctly original, Verdura jewelry has been coveted by royalty, Hollywood and high society for nearly 70 years. More than any other designer of the twentieth century Duke Fulco di Verdura elevated jewelry to the status of an art form and, over time, his designs have caught the eye of many of the world’s most iconic women includ- ing Joan Crawford, Princess Diana, Doris Duke, Katharine Hepburn, Lynn Wyatt, Nan Kempner, Diana Vreeland, Babe Paley, the Duchess of Windsor, Clare Boothe Luce, and Greta Garbo. Verdura began design- ing jewelry for Coco Chanel in the 1920’s prior to moving to America in 1934. Today, a new generation of trend setters including Brooke Shields, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz, and Anne Hathaway have discovered the timeless elegance of Verdura. Verdura died in 1978. Celebrated jewelry expert and historian Ward Landrigan is now the co-owner of Verdura along with his son, Nico. Ver- dura, in celebration of its 70th anniversary, recently has recreated some of the amazing pieces from its original collection that are true works of art. A fascinating speaker, Mr. Landrigan will explore with us the true genius of Fulco Verdura and the amazing jewelry he produced. During his talk, models from Neiman Marcus will be walking around wearing pieces from the original Verdura collection and showcasing Spring looks from Nor- man Ambrose’s 2011 Couture collection.
