78 An American giltwood oval mirror having an urn finial with floral spray surmounted by two bird heads and flanked by stylized vines and foliate carved pendants. Micro-analysis identifies the primary wood as white pine, indigenous to North America. A closely related pair of mirrors hang in Winterthur Museum. See: Montgomery catalogue #231.
