Washington Winter Show 2026

53 HELEN BRAGGWHITE CURTIN 1935 – 2025 THROUGH THE YEARS , AND ACROSS GENERAT IONS , AN ENDURING LEGACY Helen Bragg White Curtin began a longstanding and dedicated association with The Washington Winter Show nearly five decades ago. Formed through an enthusiasm for the beauty of antiques, this association grew into an appreciation for their historical importance and reflected her philanthropic commitment to our local community. Her dedication was well-known to each of her four children. The Washington Winter Show enriched and edified our lives, as well as those of our spouses, her seven grandchildren, and even the eldest of her four great grandchildren. There was never a question about where the Curtin family would be during the five most important days in the month of January, and there was never a question where our mother would be the day after the Show concluded for the debrief and the onset of planning for the next year’s show. A Founding Member, Co-Chair, and Director, our mother’s affection for the Show was contagious. She introduced us to the Show’s dealers and encouraged our curiosity as we learned the provenance and purpose of objects and artifacts. She enjoyed examining the exquisite items presented by each dealer, and she welcomed us to the art of collecting, guiding us as we furnished our own homes with treasures from the Nation’s second oldest charitable antiques show. Helen looked forward to the lectures, the loan exhibits, the booths, Sundaes on Sunday, and to preserving the future of our past through a love for antiques and philanthropic support toward our community. The Washington Winter Show is forever grateful to Helen for her countless contributions and her unwavering leadership. Honoring our mother’s legacy, the Curtin family invites you to enjoy this year’s Show, “A Place to Call Home: Celebrating 250 Years of the American Home Here & Abroad.” INMEMORIAM 2026 WASHINGTON WINTER SHOW Mrs. Curtin with her four children: Helen Bragg Curtin Cleary, William J. Curtin III, Helen Bragg White Curtin, Christopher N. Curtin, and Caroline Curtin Connell.
