Folk Art Carved Snake Swallowing A Mouse Wood Circa: 1910 Size: 16" L x 11 1/4" W x 2 3/4" H Carved from a solid hardwood (walnut) block, a black coiled snake is enjoying lunch. Literature: a work by the same hand is in the collection of the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Center and pictured in Treasures of American Folk Art , p.211, pl.165 (wherein the mouse is turned the other way—its head is seen).
