SUSAN SULLY | FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 11 AM Yale graduate Susan Sully is the author and photographer of many books about architecture and design and a regular contributor to national magazines and newspapers. Her recent book, The Southern Cosmopolitan (Rizzoli 2018) looks at the tradition of style shaping the South’s architecture and interior design. A selection of luxurious houses from Charleston, Savannah, New Orleans, Atlanta, Natchez, Georgetown, and Alexandria celebrate the sophisticated side of southern style with a mix of modern art, antiques, and exotic textiles. Her enlightened perspective will illuminate the roles that both antiques and modern design play in today’s décor. 44 / 2019 The Charleston Antiques Show With Design in Mind CHUCK CHEWNING | FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 2 PM Highly celebrated within the design industry, Chuck Chewning is the force behind the much-celebrated restoration of the Gritti Palace in Venice Italy, and will share the details of the restoration and the interior design of this important historic landmark during his talk. Chewning has more than thirty years’ experience in the luxury interior design, decorative arts and architectural preservation industries. Today he runs his own design business, Charles H. Chewning Interiors, based in Savannah, Georgia and consults to The Rubelli Group in Venice, Italy on international projects.
