Lord Shaftesbury’s talk will explain his sudden inheritance, and will describe his personal trials and tribulations, and eventual successes with the renaissance of St. Giles House and its brilliantly restored high-point Georgian architecture. Lord Shaftesbury is a direct descendant of Anthony Ashley Cooper, 1st Earl of Shaftesbury, one of the original eight Lords Proprietors of Carolina.
