Janet L. Sherlund NHA President, Board of Trustees FROM THE NHA PRESIDENT On behalf of the Board of Trustees and all members of the Nantucket Historical Association, thank you for your support of our major fund-raising event! The funds raised by the show are critical to the continuation of the NHA’s mission of preserving and interpreting the history of this special and historically significant island! Anne Marie Bratton, our 2012 Chair, and Elizabeth Milias, our 2012 Vice Chair, have worked with amazing vision and dedication over this past year to ensure the success of the show, including many new events taking place this week and throughout the summer. We are so grateful for their powerful leadership! Thank you, also, to the Antiques Show Committee—more than seventy women whose generosity to the NHA allows us to keep our programs, places, and people working throughout the year! The NHA is pleased to recognize Carolyn and Ian MacKenzie as the Honorary Chairs of the 35th Annual August Antiques Show. The NHA was transformed during Carolyn’s tenure on the board of trustees, and Carolyn and Ian continue to strengthen the NHA as members of the Friends of the NHA, and generous participants in all NHA activities and events. The Mackenzie’s dedication to the mission of the NHA is inspiring, and we are so lucky that their presence always brings so many happy smiles! We are delighted to honor them at this year’s show! Thank you, also, to the Antiques Council, whose management of this show brings the best exhibitors in their fields to present antiques of the highest caliber. I would like to acknowledge the generous support of our Underwriters, Philanthropists, Founders, and Chair’s Circle.Their leadership support of the NHA is inspiring and they have our heartfelt gratitude! The NHA is working diligently to sustain our twenty-two historic properties—can you imagine owning twenty-two historic homes? The costs and demands are staggering, yet the rich heritage they represent is something we want to make sure to pass along to the next generation. We also want to tell the stories of these properties and interpret the history that surrounds them with vibrant, engaging programs. The people of the NHA make this history come alive and make it relevant for us as they work in service to our mission and this wonderful community! The NHA is properties, programs, and people—your support of the Antiques Show is contributes to each one, and we are most grateful for your participation.Thank you and enjoy!
