Nantucket Show 2015

Michael Kovner & Jean Doyen de Montaillou 2015 chairs WELCOME AND THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE 2015 ANTIQUES & DESIGN SHOW OF NANTUCKET – NOW IN ITS 38th YEAR! Nantucket’s greatest charm, and perhaps its most precious asset, is its history. The entire island is designated as a National Historic Landmark, and we are fortunate to be surrounded by so much of the past, carefully preserved and protected. At the heart of the community is the Nantucket Historical Association, which, since 1894,has been preserving and presenting the island’s distinctive history—from its past as the world’s leading whaling port to today’s prominence as a world-class summer resort. As the signature benefit for the NHA, the Antiques & Design Show of Nantucket is, however, not just another summer event. It’s an opportunity to provide critical revenues that help ensure the NHA’s success in carrying out its mission—to tell the inspiring stories of Nantucket through its collections, programs, and properties. You’ll want to be sure to visit this summer’s exciting exhibitions at the Whaling Museum— Stove by a Whale: 20 Men, 3 boats, 96 Days and The Mighty Misty Monster: Moby-Dick Embroidered Narratives. As show chairs, we would like to take this opportunity to thank: • Our Honorary Chairs, Maria and Bill Spears— for your heartfelt dedication to the NHA • Our Underwriters and Leadership Supporters— for your generosity • Our Antiques & Design Show Committee— for your commitment, time, dedication, and talent • Our Exhibitors and Antiques Council— for your loyal participation over many years • Susan Zises Green— for your leadership of the designer panel • Our Tablescape Designers— for your creativity • Janet Sherlund, our NHA President—for your advice, guidance, and energy • And, to the NHA staff— for your tireless efforts to ensure the show’s success. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR JOINING US!
