Moderator JohannaMcBrien: Johanna McBrien is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Antiques & Fine Art magazine (2000-present) and Editor-in-Chief of InCollect.com. Her thirty-year career encompasses museums, auction houses, the antiques marketplace, appraising, teaching, writing, and online initiatives. She holds a master’s degree from the Winterthur Program in Early American Culture, a B.A. from Boston University, and attended the Attingham Summer School. She sits on numerous museum boards and committees. Ms. McBrien is a cham- pion of the value of teaching history through material culture. PANELISTS Bruce Coleman Perkins: Bruce Coleman Perkins joined Flather & Perkins Inc. in 1983, and became president of the firm in 1992. He received a B.A. degree with honors in Fine Arts from Washington and Lee University in 1973. A native of Washington, D.C., he has been involved with insurance and the fine and decorative arts worlds for over thirty-five years. Since 1992 he has served on the Board of Trustees of the Henry Francis du Pont Win- terthur Museum; is the Chairman Emeritus of the Board and is cur- rently Chairman of the Collection Committee. He is also President Emeritus of the Board of Governors of the Decorative Arts Trust; Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Royal Oak Foundation; Past President of the Board of Trustees of the American Ceramic Circle and a founding member of the Board of the Washington Decorative Arts Fo- rum. An avid third generation collec- tor, he focuses on early 18th-century Chinese Export Armorial Porcelain, 18th- and early 19th-century Ameri- can furniture, prints, and glass. James Kilvington: Jim holds a B.A. in history with an emphasis on pre- 1850 vernacular architecture and was employed by the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, the Delaware State Museum,The United States Department of the Interior- National Register of Historic Sites and The Maryland Historical Trust- Maryland Register of Historic Sites. Jim opened his gallery in 1974 specializing in American and English period decorative arts. He is the current President of the Antique Dealers’ Association of America and a board member of the Philadelphia Society for the Preservation of Landmarks. Dr. Robert Booth : Dr. Booth gradu- ated magna cum laude in English lit- erature from Princ- eton University, did his medical training at the University of Pennsylvania, and was variously staff surgeon or Chief of Orthopaedics at Pennsylvania Hospital since 1977. He is currently the Director of the 3B/ Aria Orthopaedic Institute in Phila- delphia, Pennsylvania.
