THE QUALITY OF LIFE PROGRAM: BRINGING THE HEALING ARTS TO PATIENTS & CAREGIVERS “The future of cancer research and care lies within understanding the benefits of integrative medicine and how the promotion of healing and recovery through creative work and experiences alleviate the psycho-social effects of cancer. One of the Quality of Life Program’s overarching goals is to translate our developing programs into pioneering research in the national and international cancer community. We want to demonstrate how integrating the Department of Radiation Oncology’s high-tech treatments with the ‘high-touch’ of the healing arts both offsets cancer treatment side effects and improves clinical outcomes.” —William P.
